Red wine braised beef rib with parsnip puree, broccolini, baby tomatoes and aged balsamic vinegar – $8.25
The meat was extremely tender; we didn’t even need a knife. The parsnip puree added another nice layer to this filling and hearty dish. Ours came with two pieces of short rib, simple enough to share with a friend or loved one. Recommended.
*NEW* Wild Boar Cassoulet with Duck Confit, Ham Shank and Wild Boar Sausage – $9.00
It was a bit “gamey” but enjoyable. The sausage has a nice smoky flavor, well complemented by the beans and tomatoes underneath. Worth a try if you’ve never had a boar.
Opera cake: Mona Lisa with almonds, coffee buttercream and chocolate ganache – $4.75
The recurring theme of the event is tasting desserts like pre-packaged Little Debbie treats. It was more or less the same. It’s big enough, takes a good shot, and has a slight coffee flavor, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. The cake itself is a little tough and dry, and the frosting on top came off in a single sheet when we tried to cut it. This is an off key opera cake.
3 Daughters Brewing Rosé Hard Cider, St. Petersburg, Fla. (7.0% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz, $9.00 for 12 oz.
From 3 Daughters Brewing on Untappd: “Our rosé cider is light pink in color with berry and citrus notes. It’s refreshing yet crisp for the perfect Florida drink. Naturally gluten free.
*NEW* 81Bay Brewing Rosé Blonde Ale, Tampa, FL (5.4% ABV) – $5.00 for 6 oz, $9.00 for 12 oz.
81Bay Brewing Co. describes its Rosé Blonde Ale as being made with “strawberry and hibiscus.”
Iced Rosé – $6.50
Frozen Rosé is becoming increasingly popular during these festivals, so here is the mandatory offer this time around.
*NEW* Marietta Old Vine Rosé, California ($15/bottle) – $5.00
From Marietta Cellars: “Our ready-made California rosé is a saturation of summer watermelon savored to the core. Electric pink in the glass, this blend of Grenache and Syrah is bursting with warm wild strawberries, tangy pink grapefruit and a hint of pink peppercorn. Satisfyingly fresh and crisp, with a dry, mouth-watering finish, this is the right wine for when food is served, when friends gather or for the perfect quiet view.
