A Promised Post for the New Year

Wow has this last week of the year flown by! I had intended to pop in after Christmas and write about our phenomenal meal at Cyrus. But then . . . Christopher and I went skiing instead. (BLISS!)

This morning I thought, today will be the day. I dropped Mom and Dad at the airport, Noe at day care and am finally settling in for some serious catch up. But then . . . I spoke with my friend about tonight’s New Year’s Indulgence and she said, “isn’t it funny that when you really look at what we’ll be eating, you’re talking about funky live mollusks (oysters), fish eggs (caviar), an oversized liver (you guessed it—foie gras), a funny looking crustacean (lobster) and especially-stinky fungus (truffles)?”

And I thought, oh, that is so a Swirling Notions post.

But I felt a little guilty doing two over-the-top dinner posts in one week, what with the sagacious aspirations for the new year upon us and all. So I’ve decided to tackle them both in one shot later this week and have fun with it. A double-decker indulgence of a post to kick off ‘08 with a lick of the lips. Stay tuned.

Have a Happy New Year everyone . . . and wonderful wishes for 2008!
